Summiting Snowdon Via the Rhyd Ddu Path

With Mt Snowdon literally on our doorstep, it seemed only right to pay its summit a visit on a trip to Snowdonia National Park. But with a dizzying array of paths to choose from, we went on the advice of our B&B hosts and chose the Rhyd Ddu path to the summit. And it was a wise choice, as getting there was turned out to be as adventurous as summiting Snowdon itself….

The UK’s Best Hidden Beaches

For the past several weeks I’ve been researching beaches in the UK for work (yes, it’s a hard life, I know). Now, considering how many times I’ve surfed the UK’s waves and wandered around its coast, I fancied myself as a bit of a know-it-all when it came to Britain’s beaches. In fact, I had assumed that a day at the beach in the UK went hand-in-hand with pebbles lodged in shoes, chilly winds and permanent grey skies. Continue reading
